Course level: the course is designed for student who has completed higher intermediate level which assumes a current vocabulary of around 1200 Chinese characters and a strong understanding of Chinese grammar. 
Course contents: the fourteen selections are generally critical of, and even hostile to American society as a whole. The selections cover four major issues: the education crisis, social injustice, human rights violations, and racial discrimination. 
Each selection is presented in both traditional and simplified characters, with a copy of the actual newspaper article attached. The book also has a vocabulary glossary, sentence patterns annotated in English, and suggested discussion topics with each selection. 
In addition to the fourteen glossed articles, the book also selected eight unglossed essays which can be used as supplementary reading materials. 

Please note, besides the enrolling period at the start of each academic term, you can apply for the Course any time if you have learnt previously. After taking an assessment, you will be put into the level of class that suits your standard and the tuition fee depends on the portion of the class you've taken.
