“三字經” 學習班人之初, 性本善, 性相近, 習相遠…… 玉不琢, 不成器, 人不學, 不知義…… Sounds familiar?

Ever wonder what it really means? Ever wonder how the Imperial elites started their life long study?

“三字經” is widely known, however in modern days we are only familiar with a few sentences and often mistaken it as a classic rhyme for children. Indeed, “三字經”, since Southern Song Dynasty, for over 700 years it has been an indispensable primer in the study of Chinese traditional culture.

With just over a thousand words rhymed in 3-word sentences, it covers 5000 years of Chinese culture; from everyday traditions and folklore to astronomy, geography, history, literature, moral virtues, myths, Imperial courts changes, …… and more.

Taught in Mandarin with discussions also in English and Cantonese, this is a 10 week evening course with flexible start dates. For full details, email or call Meridian Chinese Studies
